Best
wishes for a complete and speedy recovery to
Gwen Simons, who we hope will be recuperating at home by
now following a hip operation after a fall. Kay, Ollie,
Beccy and Bevan are all looking forward to having Gwen
back with them and we send them all our very best
wishes.
Congratulations to Debbie and Simon at Gwenarth
on the safe arrival of their baby girl, Isabella Rose.
Sunday Service the next service (these
are held every three months) will be held on
Sunday, 31st May at 9 am in the village hall, led by Mr
Lee. All welcome - come and see the bright new
refurbished village hall. The recent redecoration by
several volunteers has made such a difference.
Our
AnnualPlant Sale is on
Sunday 17th May this year and we are
indebted to Norman Clarke and Chris Priddey for their
work in setting it all up, helped by volunteers on the
day. The sale begins 10.30 amonwards (not 11 am as previously
reported) until around 4 pm, and we hope that in
addition to well-grown annuals we can tempt visitors
with top quality shrubs and perennials, together with
interesting plants at bargain prices on the village
table. We are also hoping to be serving Fairtrade
coffee, tea and biscuits from the village hall.
Altogether a grand day out!
Cricket Pavilion Carole and Ann would like
to thank everyone for selling tickets and to those who
donated raffle prizes. A great total of £589 net profit was
made. Thank you to everyone for supporting us in this. A
full list of the prize winners is on display in the village
hall. A date for your diary - Race night,
Friday 6th June with delicious supper. Details to
follow. We are pleased to report that work has begun to
repair and refurbish the pavilion.
Parish Council the AGM will be held in
the village hall on May 14th at 7 pm . All welcome to
attend.
