Welcome to the village to Ian
and Kath, who have moved into 'Albert's Cottage'
on the village Green. We hope they will enjoy
living in Easenhall, and look forward to meeting
them at one or more of the village events
planned for December.....
BONFIRE PARTY thanks to
the Lea family for allowing us to light the
village bonfire on their field, and for all
their hard work, and to everyone else who helped
to organise such a great evening with a
brilliant fireworks display and lovely food.
The new venue proved a great success.
POPPY APPEAL our British Legion
Poppy collection during November raised £140.30,
a record. In addition, the collecting tin at
the Golden Lion raised over £60. Great! Thank
you to everyone for your generosity and to
Margaret Campbell for rattling the tin.
NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH A
resident of Monks Kirby was dismayed to find
a man in his back garden looking round for
scrap metal, and when questioned he said he
had spoken to the householder's wife a few
days before, which was incorrect. The man
was driving a metallic cherry red Transit
T476AVC with towbar, ladder rack and fold
down orange flashing light on top.
The driver was middle aged with white wavy
hair. It's time to use those locks and
padlocks again, metal thieves are around.
We have also been notified of a scam
involving DHL deliveries. If you find an
'attempted delivery' notice card through
your door DO NOT phone the number on the
card - it could be a very expensive premium
rate number for you are charged the full
amount (around £15) immediately you are
connected. If you are expecting a
delivery double check the correct number to
ring via the phone book, the internet or
directory enquiries.
